I saw an ad for a backrest and luggage rack system for the S1000XR on a Facebook ad so I reached out to Kerry at Dynamic Motorcycle Accessories and inquired about a set up for the beloved 15+ R/RS.
Kerry got started on it immediately and shipped me out a backrest along with a prototype of each of the three mounting solutions he offers. (See below)
You can buy the components independent of each other so if you want a luggage rack but no back rest that choice is available.
Personally I think the option that is just the mounting plates is the sportiest (and least expensive option coming in at just under $200) however I will be keeping the long luggage rack on mine permanently. I like the options it provides and as I'm planning a long trip out west for the first time ever, I will enjoy the added comfort of having an extra gallon or two of fuel. (Kerry's website says The long luggage rack can hold two 1 gallon Rotax packs with the back rest removed or a single pack with the back rest installed.
My wife really enjoys it and I know I feel better being a little more greedy with the throttle when riding two up thanks to the backrest.
Head on over to his website for some better pictures and place an order!
