The Snowy Ride is not a rally in the old style of rallies. More a yuppy version of a fund raising ride on great roads. Generally other guys you don't normally ride with are not an issue from my experience. Our group is normally around 10 or 15 & we track down over a few days on back roads which is always a great start. The Sydney based guys like myself usually put in around 2000km for the 4 day run which is not at all unreasonable. Good food a few beers & a lot of bs & we all look forward to next years.
Anyway I hope your Mum is ok & you enjoy those lovely Adelaide Hills roads. And take care

    Hi Mark,
My usual supplier has bee crook & shut up shop for a while so I couldn't quickly pick up a set of Evo T3's I was chasing. Instead put on a pair of Michelin Road Pilot 4's & I have to say I'm very impressed. With a short run on the Od Pacific Hwy to scrub them in I spent a day on Eastern Creeks South Circuit doing a Stay Upright advanced cornering & braking course. They performed extremely well & felt very similar to the T30's I'm used to. As I said to one of my mates it was like putting on a pair of old slippers. Comfortable & you know exactly what to expect. If ever you feel the need to move away from the T30's I can recommend these.

Hey sport did you get down to the Snowy Ride a few weeks ago? I went with a bunch of mates & rode the new LC down for the first time. Geeez I love that area. Such good roads in top shape.. mostly. Our usual Saturday morning ride took us to Charlotte's Pass for 1degree & still tons of snow around. Crowds seem to be getting smaller each of the 4 times I've been. Well the R12R performed flawlessly as you'd expect & now with just on 8000km on the clock I'm putting on a new set of boots for the Stay Upright course I'm doing next Monday. Hopefully I learn something new as I always have every course I've completed. Going back to the Bridgstone T30's I had on the old bike. I really can't love the Roadtecs on this one.

    Hello Panzermann,
I am in the process of selling my beloved candy cane R1200S and picking up a black 2015 R1200R LC. I saw in one of your posts that you fitted F800R sport bags to your bike. Personally I find this to be much more attractive than the OEM bread boxes. Were there any issues in fitting these and did you have to make any modifications? I realize with the exhaust being on the F800 left side and the R12 on the right its not a perfect match. I wonder if the K12/K13 S bags might work better since their exhausts are also on the right.
    Thanks, John
