Modifications

Drivetrain
I ride with Michelin Pilot tyres. Currently a Pilot 4 rear and a Pilot 5 front.
Exterior
Hepco & Becker engine bars to protect cylinder heads. A mudsling greatly reduces cleaning road muck off the underside of the rear. After getting a crack in the headlamp ($200+ replacement, I fitted a headlamp shield.
Audio
Planning to upgrade to Wilbers WESA at 60,000km.
Suspension
The original standard 'komfort' seat height of 820mm has been modified to 845mm. I found that the original locked me into a single riding posture. I experimented with creating a more comfortable profile and height. After several months I went to an auto upholsterer.
The original cover was stretched and reused, which reduced the cost and makes the seat look like an OEM design.
Wheel and Tire
I bought a Garmin 390LM second hand and hard wired it myself. I used a Canbus compatible wiring unit and connected it to an active wire from the power plug. The unit turns off about 60 seconds after the ignition is cut.
