Just regular maintenance and replace consumables. The gear selector broke and transmission was stuck in one gear around 38k miles. The transmission and gear selector were replaced under warranty. The bike is almost exclusively used for commute purpose.
Correction, I never checked the valves on the r1200rs. My r1100s that had 140k miles never has a change in valve clearances, so I chose not to bother on the r1200rs until I can feel the engine gets harder to start.
At 103k miles, my RS developed a “clattering” noise in the clutch. The countershaft with the clutch pressure plate mounted to it has about 1mm endplay. This causes the clutch plates to move a bit within the clutch basket which made a dreadful clattering noise. I ended up letting the RS go and replaced it with a ‘15 R1200R. I am surprised with how different the handling is between the R and RS (which I had tubular handlebar installed instead of the clip-ons.) I like the nimble handling of the R, but miss the wind protection of the RS.
