I’d only consider it if I’m noticing a significant loss of oil between changes. If you’re not burning oil at an increased rate after 130K, I’d say you’re fine.

I was speaking with an Amsoil salesman at a motorcycle show who owned a boxer with over 160K kms. He said he went to a thicker oil in his transmission, 75w-140 I believe, and said shifting felt better. He didn't mention that he went to a thicker motor oil.

or stick with standard recommendation ? France calling.
What are you using for oil now? Year of bike? BMW changed the recommended oil for hex and cam heads to 15w-50 which is heavier than any of the other weights previously recommended.

There's car oil for high mileage motors (75K+ miles) that are typically 10w-40.
