after a couple of years riding guzzi and honda, i am back in the fold with a 2012 classic. twenty years on airheads and bricks and the camaraderie that came with it made their mark and while i enjoyed the goose & guzzistas (not the electrics) and appreciated the dependability of the honda (but not the overall ujm experience) the time spent on a beemer and in the company of the "riders" shaped almost all of my expectations concerning riding. this r1200r is quite the machine and in its own way genuinely reflects what bmw does best....solid technology, a great intuitive ride, and mile after mile of smiles. a combo of lurking on this forum and the better half saying "pull the trigger" got me back on the rondel. christmas came early this year and that's about all there is to this tale.
