I'm going in for my 600 mile tune up in a week or so. Have the 2012 Classic, and already have windscreen, hard bags, and chrome engine guards/engine covers. Any must-have ad-ons that the dealership would have or could get?

Wade in Easy, Boys !

Go slowly there drDave.
Certain "add-ons" may be quick and easy to attach,
but may be high maintenance,
and could cost you a lot $$ to have un-attached. :D

An old carpenter with 7 and 1/2 fingers told me,
"Measure Twice, Cut Once !"
I was young, and assumed he was old & wise.
But the more I thought about that,
was he talking about the board, or his fingers ???

Yes, that would totally work, with the propellers hitting the ground, digging in, and spinning the bike around. Built by the Acme Flying Bike Conversions Corp., Wile E. Coyote Pres.?

Clem,

I'm thinking that's totally consistent with what I know about drummers. . . .

Add-Ons ?

Hey drDave and Forum,
Do you think the DOHC Roadster would lend itself to having a sidecar ?
Is the new DOHC engine too much ?
Not a "drummer set", but a really functional sidecar.
A friend has an old BMW R75-5 sidecar and loves it.
GHGoodwin, one of our fellow Forum members was selling his bike
due to an unfortunate injury, and was happy using a URAL.
I have ridden the Ural just a bit, and if you take it easy and go slow,
they can be quite a stalwart commuter, and one very able pack mule.

Whaddaya' think?

Wishing all the best to you, GH.

Clem, I don't know enough about the engine as a stressed member of the frame thingie on modern bikes to know whether a sidecar would mess that up. It would definitely look cool, in a kind of uberBMW way.

Hey drDave, the BEST dealer add-on I got was BMW's 2 year extended warranty.
It was cheap! The ESA wasn't cheap, but I am very satisfied with it. I did NOT feel inclined to get the tire pressure sensors. The on-board computer gives me the most bling for the bucks spent.

Hmm. .will have to ask the dealer about whether I can still get that warranty. Thanks Clem! :) Agree about the computer, now have a 139db horn, crash bars and chrome engine covers. . .not really much to add. Anybody have an "Iphone as GPS" mount on their bike? What do you use?

I have the biologic mount, It's water proof and you can still use it with globes on.
The downside is, I haven't find an aftermarket charger that fits on it. I find myself just caring the device on my left jacket's pocket and charging it from the original outlet.
Bike Mount

I guess this can be consider add-on, I have a pair of Scala Rider Bluetooth G4 devices. The best one of all the features is that I can communicate with the wife while riding, this becomes more like a car trip since we are talking and now she wants to get on the bike more often. There are lots of good things having these, you can hear music wireless from your Iphone, gps directions, phonecalls and more.
There is also a newer version I haven't try but it's out there. I called the G9.
