Brand new suspension upgrade

It took about 4 months for the suspension upgrade since FedEx managed to lose on of the forks that was shipped to me. So on the rear of my 1250r now has fully adjustable Wilber’s shock. On the front it turned out that Ohlins kit didn’t fit the forks as BMW changed vendors after 2020 and mine is 2022. So now the front has GP suspension custom made for my bike. Now the bike has the suspension a 18,000 dollar bike should have

Marc, I have a 23. R1250R and looked at the Wilber’s for the rear. Went to the GP Suspension site and didn’t find cartridges for the “R” bike.

Which model cartridge did you use?

thanks
Curly

GP were able to build a one off kit even though it’s not listed. I was dealing with Superplush suspension who had contacted GP on my behalf so I don’t know which model cartridge was inserted.

Why do you need an aftermarket suspension on a new R?

The front end of the bike didn’t handle well, kinda mushy and the forks had no adjustment. It is surprising that an 18,000 dollar bike didn’t have adjustable front end.

Marc, I plan on doing a suspension upgrade on my new bike as well. Did you do the part or all of the install yourself? Or did you have someone else do the work?

Thanks! I’ll check them out. I’m still thinking about trying to do the upgrade/install myself. It seems like the rear shock wouldn’t be too much of a challenge. Not so sure about the forks on my 2022.
