I would prefer alloys for ease of plugging but I prefer the look of spokes on my beloved classic and definitely not a deal breaker. Next time I need tires I may seal the spokes. Tube prices have doubled in the last few years and my mechanic won't mount a tire without putting a new tube in.Some people here love spoked wheels and would perhaps be in for a trade.
Personally I would never buy a bike with spoked wheels. We are at least a century ahead of that...![]()
Maybe not a century - closer to five decades. We are at least a century ahead of that...
I had a 1978 Yamaha 750 with cast wheels. I didn't remember that being the first year for cast wheels on production bikes.Cast wheels were first approved for use on motorcycles in Japan in 1978 and Yamaha was the first manufacturer to fit cast wheels to its motorcycles following this approval.
Yes, but an R is none of those.Ahead? Just different. There's a good reason most adventure bikes and all dual sport and motocross bikes have spokes....
They all have 2 wheels...Yes, but an R is none of those.
Very true! ;-)They all have 2 wheels...
