Upon roaming around the BMW site, it looks like they are offering the classic model again because of its popularity. I hope I got that right.

So now there is the beige one, the blue one, the all black Darth Vader one and the classic. A good selection of a great bike.

I decided to buy a new classic last Sept. but the BMW website said they were only going to offer the beige and the blue models. After a lot of searching I found a 2012 classic and by the time I got it there was only a month of riding weather left in IL. This was just enough time to bond with it and lavish some farkles on it. It is now asleep in a corner of the garage. Sleep tight my beauty. Daddy will probably have a new farkle for you in the spring.

I'm debating whether I want to put either Crista lights on the front or maybe a pair of BST carbon fiber wheels on my 12 Classic.

And I thought I was being extravagant putting some Wunderlick hand guards on.

Farkle - still a word I can't get used to.

BST's on a classic!!! i was just wondering the same thing. Yesterday, I took my bike to Max to have the wheels checked for balance because I felt a little shimmy at 60-90mph. The tech rode it and reported no probs; but when he put the wheels on a balancer, the rear was off 20 grams and, he says, slightly bent. The ride home was better, but, it's still in my head that there is a slight shimmy. Max says that only Germany can tune the spokes correctly. A new spoke wheel is $1,30h installed. Wonder how much, how good the BST Carbons would be. Anyone gave any info? Ideas. I won't say opinions cause I'm sure everyone will havo at least one!

I'd be interested to know as well, LAS. I like the Classic's spokes but saving about 15 pounds of unsprung weight with ultrastiff carbon fiber rims sounds like the MegaFarkle of the Century for this bike.

Actually, Hoshiko, I was thinking of selling your left kidney. You have two, right? You'd never miss it....

They certainly look awesome. If I was going to spend that much cash on upgrades I'd spend it on an Ohlins shock though. That will have a much bigger impact on your bike's performance than the wheels.
I think it's not about performance, he's spoke wheel is F#$% and he wants to get rid of the extra weight by the carbon wheels and also loosing one of the kidneys.

According with BST website, their wheels are up to 30% lighter than most of today's advanced motorbike racing wheels, and even more significantly lighter than the standard production wheels.

According to my buddy Google, the average weight for a healthy, human kidney is 0.26-0.30 pounds.

Leave Hoshiko's kidneys alone!:idisagree: He's still young, just getting a house, and hasn't even gotten around to making a few kids, so don't be cutting him open and parting out his organs for BST wheels.......................yet.:clown:

Actually I need a left kidney. Will buy it. I trust that doc knows how to preserve it. Let me know when I can pick it up.

... And everybody gets what they want.

Doc can you keep the kidney on ice until I get back to the US?

Oh absolutely, Atractaspis. Any other parts you'd like Hoshiko to donate?
