Hi to all I am the proud owner of a brand new r1250r currently with 63 Km on the clock, I have a few exras installed including the official BMW crash bars, I know these bars protect the cilinder hads very well but scratch easily if ttheeh bike is dropped.

Does any one have any protectors for these bars installed to avoid scratching the bars?

I have only been able to find these online for the Givi crash bars EuroBikes

Aparrently they fit the 25mm diamater crash bars from givi but I think the BMW ones are much bigger, I have also seen these which may be a cheap alternatice but with GS branded.

Any help is much appreciated!

I don’t know of any others but the cheapies look like they’d provide about the same protection as the Givi ones by the look of them. That is, for a stationary tip over or very slow speed low side. After that, it may well be an insurance job anyway.
You could potentially reverse the aluminium trims on the cheapies so you don’t see the GS, although there’s a little bit of GS in every BMW, I say.
One of the photos in the ad looks a bit disconcerting, though …

This is even too OCD for me. I had engine guards installed when I bought the bike. The winglet spoiler (which doesn’t fit with the OEM guards) parts were stashed in a box with some other OEM sundries. I soon installed the Machine Art Moto (MAM) Avant Guard front protector. Maybe last summer, I decided I wanted the winglets, so I hacked them up to make room for the engine guards. This required removing the Avant Guard. Being bored this winter and with over 50 ft of snow in the mountains (not so much in my yard but riding was out of the question), I decided on a lighter, more stock look. I bought unhacked winglet parts, removed the engine bars, reinstalled the spoiler, and for protection, installed the MAM X-Head cylinder head protectors which replace the OEM spark plug wire covers (below).

I recently decided to put the engine guards back on and asked for advice on the best tool for making a clean cutout on the winglets to accommodate the engine guards. From some fine suggestions, I wound up using nearly all of them, including a hole saw, box cutter, snips, Dremel grinder, file, and sand paper. The X-Heads wouldn’t fit under the OEM engine guards, as advertised by MAM, and I had to trim the rubber bumpers on the inner side of the guards. The finished, but by no means permanent, product is shown below. Definite no on the engine guard guards.

You can get rubber protectors for the crash bars... Aliexpress ones do fit. You have the head covers, as well as the crash bars, and they tend to stick out a little and get scratched too. You can always put a protection film over them, but realistically, they are there to protect the cylinder heads from damage and I'd be expecting not to crash so I don't need to worry about scratching the bars/covers, but if I did crash, I'd be happy they were scratched instead of damaging the heads!
