Any suggestions for a front engine chip, paint wise? Done 4500 miles on my 2017 r1200r since I bought it in April. Putting it away for the winter ,I noticed a chip on the letter B front of engine. Might just dab some black hammerite on it ?🤔

Mine has looked like that a few times, do I ignore it and let it show its battle scars or do I bite the bullet and fit a Wunderlich engine guard in lovely black plastic 🤔

Yeah I'll touch it up, thought the vertical engine plate might have had a thicker enamel like covering 😏love the bike to death tho.

I have a new unused front cover in my garage, won’t fit my bike because of the spotlight bracket I have fitted, I fitted a fender extender and a smaller cover from Aliexpress instead. I am away at the moment but can send pictures end of next week if you are interested.
It is advertised in the LC parts for sale section, back in May.

In retrospect, had it been available at the time an Avant Garde cover would have been a good idea for my roadster. Even the header pipes have fine pitting from fine particles thrown up over the last 110,000 km.

Get over it ? Been riding bikes since 1976, fully aware motorcycles suffer wear and tear over time and use.

I fitted the AvantGuard on my ‘17 R12RLC from day one. Over 90k on the clock and no issues at all. I've taken the cover off a few times to remove built-up grime and the engine paintwork has no chips or wear and tear that I could see.
