Yep, my filler neck is rusty too...

Two screws broke after trying to get them out with a reverse drill. No movement even with a heavy plier. Ideas?
I'll have to try the Rust Shock for that...

What a mess 😢 only option left now is to drill out the remaining parts and cut new thread I guess?
But to be able to do so you need to uninstall the tank and remove the fuel.
At least this will make it possible to remove all rust thoroughly and have it painted with 2K paint that is fuel resistant.
Other option is to look out for another second hand fuel tank that’s in a better condition?

Actually I don't think the mess is THAT big. With a chisel and the vacuum cleaner present (to prevent the rust from ending up inside the tank), I was able to get rid of most loose rust. Underneath is a solid and stable bottom in which I have all confidence after some rust treatment and painting.

My mechanic drove by today (unplanned but well timed!) to pick the bike up for maintenance. He is better equipped than me and I hope he wil get the screws out.When it returns I'll do the rest of the treatment myself.

First stage of treatment, a second layer of anti-rust applied.

That so-called "thingy" is part of the Turbo Encabulator. Be very very careful.

But that is really harmless unless powered by MrFusion (*), and if it was, we would not need to fill the tank with gasoline but a simple banana shell for each 1000 Km would do.

I was under the impression that even my mechanic did not know what it was for...
