Dunno why BMW left this part of the frame uncovered.

But the fix was easy
Found this from a German supplier.

Mine came with a plastic cap to cover the LEFT side.
The right side was, like you stated, for some reason, left uncovered.
I asked the dealer. He smiled, shrugged shoulders, No reply.
???

Although it looks nice, it does not bother me at all without the cover, just in your picture they are more screws showing.
It will be impossible to cover all the screws.

being a total noob, I actually called my BMW dealer and told them i needed a new cover because that was either not installed or fell off!

They didn't mention that i could buy a cover for it... They just gently informed me that it comes that way, and advised me to lie down and take a nap...
