My brother recently purchased a 2012, R1200R. I have a 2013, R1200R, 90th anniversary model. What suprised us both is that on the instrument panel, his bike indicates the distance left to travel with the available fuel in the tank. My bike does not have such a fuel gauge.
Does anyone know why this is the case?
We put it down to the possibility of being an inconsistancy in accuracy, so BMW decided to remove it from later models.
As my brother has only had the bike for just over a week, he has not had the opportunity to test the gauge for accuracy.

Regards,
Ken

There were issues with the sensor, search " fuel strip" for a bunch of threads with details. Proof to your model year there were issues, so they just dropped the sensor and I think gave you a "low fuel" warning light...
