Going to be naked for bit.

Went to my local dealer to get the luggage grid and sport screen installed that were part of the deal and the parts had come in.

Luggage grid installed fine.

OEM windscreen would not work. 2023 went to a full led light assembly. Parts list showed current assembly would work from 2019 to 2023.

Dealer has placed a call to BMW tech support to find out if a new assembly is available or in the works.

So for the time being I’m riding a naked R1250R.

LOL for the multi purpose title of the thread :)
Isn’t it just the windshield mounting bracket?

Brilliant title :)
Usually we ask for pictures, but now I am not certain...
(but attention was caught nevertheless!)

Is there any other way?

The dealer is waiting to hear from BMW corporate as to whether they have a new mount ready and haven’t update the computer or it is still being designed.

if you looked at the current mount on the parts picture, the attachment points would not work.

I believe the prior generation light had a headlight assembly and a silver colored surround that was removed to expose the attachment points.

I will update once the dealer notifies me. With this change I’m not sure if other aftermarket mounts would work. Time will tell.
Quite a bit of difference between the headlight & mountings, not good planning by BMW, lots of people want some kind of screen. Just wish they had made the surround black on the 15-22 bikes.

Ilmberger sells nice carbon part for that. Looks better than on the picture, it is nice dark carbon. I also had this part on my LC

I've seen those. At that price, no thanks, I will see about getting mine wrapped or look out for a used one and spray it.

Eeeesh! I didn’t realize they changed the front mountings so drastically. It won’t mount the current VStream or any of the aftermarket shields that use the ‘19-‘22 stock shield mounting bracket. They offer the sports screen but no bracket? Amazing.

The lower picture you posted, Boxer25, is of a 1200-LC. Even the pre-2023 1250 has different Sport screen and mount to the 1200 (possibly to accommodate the TFT screen and its mount). The new 2023 LED light housing is designed to look more integrated with the bike (smoother lines on the bike), giving the bike a more updated look. So I don’t think BMW Motorrad made the change thoughtlessly. But the ambiguity surrounding the 2023 screen and mount is surprising. The configurator presently shows only a generic schematic for the Sport screen option whereas it would normally show an actual photograph of the screen. They’ll blame COVID related supply issues. 😄

Just shows you cannot believe the Internet, picture accompanied a 2022 review!

Even though the “Sport” screen shows availability, there is no OEM touring screen shown to be available for a 23’.

The availability of a screen along with the Wunderlich lowering pegs and Hornig Bar risers, both of which were already ordered, gave me a better psychological comfort level when I traded a 21’ GS.

You can select the sport screen option on the UK configurator, but they often don't agree with the dealer ordering system.

If the headlight still mounts to the forks the same way, the VStream shields may still work... They use 4 bolts, two on each side, one of which it the headlight pivot.

V-Stream’s tech support manager already responded to me advising they will need a full redesign.

If you are close (@Curly59 ) - Offer them yours for test-fitting/design... Possibly get a free shield... :)

Not close unfortunately. Local dealers in NJ and Virginia Beach have the new 23’.

A member on the ADVRider in the Road Warrior forum posted a picture of the new headlight with a small “Fly” style screen. I forwarded that to my dealer for reference.

Hopefully just the parts fiche wasn’t updated and I won’t have a prolonged wait.
