Going to be naked for bit.

Went to my local dealer to get the luggage grid and sport screen installed that were part of the deal and the parts had come in.

Luggage grid installed fine.

OEM windscreen would not work. 2023 went to a full led light assembly. Parts list showed current assembly would work from 2019 to 2023.

Dealer has placed a call to BMW tech support to find out if a new assembly is available or in the works.

So for the time being I’m riding a naked R1250R.

Panzerman, I have close up photos of a 22’ showing the bolts, and close up of the 23’ without the exposed bolts. I also have the photo from another forum showing a 23’ with some sort of ply screen.

I will gladly attach the photos if someone can show me how.

Use the paper clip on the upper row of symbols to attach a picture file.

The scenery icon (next to the camera icon) is more effective - it embeds the photo rather than attaches it.

Just followed up with my dealer and it has been over a week since he put in the ticket with BMW regarding the 23' windscreen.

No response from BMW tech support yet.
Higher tech.
Yes, hi-tech and above all safer than clicking on a link supplied by an unidentified forum contributor.

The paperclip is "attach", the scenic pic is "insert pic" without attaching...

I thought it was embedded but it’s not. It was when I was composing the post but didn’t end up that way.
Brilliant title :)

Off-topic, but another brilliant title some time ago to a member's post to R9T riders when selling his own R9T - without much regret, it seemed - was
'Don't cry for me, R9Ters'. :love: :love::love:

FYI update: Went to my local dealer to pick up panniers and checked on windscreen hardware.

BMW never responded to the dealer’s inquiry, however there is now a mounting bracket part number listed for the 23’ model year which is a different part number than 19’-22’.
The remaining needed parts to complete the installation are the same according to my dealer. This indicates there is a possibility that the new bracket will fit other aftermarket windscreens designed for OEM mounts.

Finally! Dealer called and the 23’ windscreen mount came in.

According to the all knowing micro fiche, the current smaller sport screen fits the new mount but the larger tour is not shown as a fit. The dealer is ordering anyway and we’ll see if it fits.

Hopefully I’ll be naked no more. Can’t tolerate the wind past 55. Too old and too wide. Me, not the bike. Lol.

Any update on this? I'm in the same boat! Did you get the part number for the holder? And/or did the touring screen fit?
Yes, install completed with the OEM touring screen and looks good. Your dealer can run the vin and the new mount will show as available.

good news is the bolt pattern is the same so both OEM and aftermarket screens will fit.

Glad it worked out! Thanks for confirming - now I have a plan :)
