I have removed the OEM GPS mount in favour of a new mount at windscreen level. The new mount is inbound from the UK.

As part of the job I need to remove the original mounting bolts (4) and replace them with neat original type bolts, in their recessed location.

Would a fellow rider be able to help me with the original bolt specification and the torque setting please? Sorry to trouble, but help is appreciated.

Thanks, Selby

Thanks MrB.
I just realised this is a big ask.
I will pull one of the bolts and figure a good bolt size/pitch with nice head so I can order 4 online and get exactly what I need.
Thanks all for reading. I will take it from here 👍

Just one more question though: Did the RS, with no OEM GPS, have hole caps/covers over the 4 bolt heads?

Thank you,
Selby.

Without Navigation Preparation, regular Torx head bolts are used, available from your dealer.

You can always check part specs and numbers at one of the online catalogues, such as:

If you want to compare fitment across models, RealOEM is the most useful.

I just left mine there. I don't notice them and, after 7 years, they're still doing their job of holding the bars in place.

If you are buying your new GPS mount from Moto-Mate they are nice quality and do come complete with replacement stainless steel bolts to fit straight back where the oem ones were prior to the GPS relocation.
I did the same on my RS and am very happy with the results.

Thanks LBB. My GPS mount is by Motorrad MV.
I haven’t seen one ‘in the flesh’ but I’m confident it will be well made and do the job.
The up high location will be excellent for my Zumo XT.
