Heated seat connector removal on driver's seat?

2355 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Cajun Chuck
I have a 2022 R1250GS with the heated seats.

Front and rear seat removal is straightforward ; the manual instructions are clear. However, for the heated seats, the manual only says to disconnect the plug (with no details).

On the rear seat, there's a tab you press and then the plug is removed via gentle pulling.

On the front seat, I cannot figure it out -- or I'm just not pulling hard enough. I'm trying to err on the side of caution to avoid damage until I understand what's going on. Another challenge is the recessed position of the connector.

Any one know what to press and/or where to pull to get the heated seat connector off?

Thanks,
Dennis

You have to press the visible tab right next to cable entry point - the top part of the connector in your picture. Had the same problem with my RT

Ah -- thanks! How easy things are when you know precisely where to press; that recessed area challenge is mitigated by removing the plug from the slots.

So I'm having a pretty bad day. I had my front seat off the bike ('22 1250GSA) resting on the tank, it slid off and the wires pulled out of the connector. I removed the connecting cable from the bike, it has a tag with numbers on it. I have searched but can't find one anywhere. It's not on the fiche for this bike. Does anyone know how to get a replacement. It looks identical to the one above.
