Hi all,

Pls help me.

In my area there isn't dealer or authorized services. After 10.000km on my bike appears "Service". I did simple service myself and want to reset/ switch of "Service". How to do it? Pls advice.

Thank you!

service indicator

Hi

I have same problem after having to replace battery--local BMW dealer tells me they have to reset --5 min job--the reason is the computer has forgotten the corrrect date!!
The next service date shows ok

Has anyone ever tried the reset procedure that bmw has for their cars? The procedure is on many you-tube videos. Maybe the bikes have this feature and nobody has discovered it yet or knows about it. Its just a sequence of ignition key and trip/function button motions. worth a try. My 07 does not have this light but I'm sure my new wethead roadster will.

Thanks guys , I found a GS911 tool in Canada for $349 . I wasn't planning on needing such a tool but I plan on doing my own servicing and don't want to look at "service" on the dash for the rest of my days . Do you guys all buy them ?? Thanks

Does anyone on the Forum live near Barrie , Ontario with such a device ? I don't have a laptop to use with the Gs911 tool so I could be into a sizeable investment here . Thanks guys.
Like Dr. S, I'm a Mac user and didn't want to mess with workarounds. So I just bought a used PC laptop. The world is full of them; because speed and screen size aren't important for GS-911 use, they're cheap. I wrote it up for the BMWMOA Forums. Read more than you want to know here.

The GS-911 is a really useful tool, particularly if you don't have a nearby dealer or don't want to pay the dealer's price.

I don't own one yet as I have two Dealers nearby willing to reset the code without actually performing the maintenance: SFBMW for $40 and CalMoto Mountain View for $61.50, SJBMW won't do it.
