Message sent. And ehm, from these pics it appears that we not only have the same taste for bikes, but also for garage flooring... :)

Not the same floor then, I have the silver & black MotoFloor (Costco) in my workshop. Anyway, I'll stop derailing your thread now, this isn't floorforum.com...

I'm not sure if the part# is printed on there somewhere. But the R1200RS , R1250RS and R1250R all came standard with the 'high' seat from what I understand, only the R1200R did not, in the US at least.

It's my understanding the R1250R (like mine) come with the COMFORT seat, which is very close to the height of the high seat. Not sure if BMW still makes both or not. The high seat is easily recognizable because it looks completely flat, from the tank to the rear seat. My seat has a very slight dip after the tank, then flat. The difference is probably 10mm at best, so hardly worth mentioning. The low seat has a HUGE dip, so you can spot it in a nano-second :). Only comparing P/Ns and specs would tell us the actual differences.

Sounds like you're referring to the "Sports Rider's Seat"? See here for an image showing the difference:
Maybe they should just have called them 'Tall', 'Grande' and 'Venti', for clarity...

The easy way to identify a Sport Seat is the seam on the side.

Thank you. My HP definitely has the high (820mm) one, and glad it does, since 20mm higher would be too high for my 31" inseam. Plus my knees didn't protest on 2 long rides, so no need to even consider the sport one :). Good info from Bob's site, even though it's for R1200s. I think the 790mm seat is now gone, right? Too bad, since the step from the now regular 820mm to the 760mm low is HUGE. BMW should have kept the previous regular seat as the 'Low1', and the other as 'Low2' IMO.
