Well, went out for my 100-miles-before- breakfast run this morning on my 2015 R1200R.
Down Interstate 15 at 85 mph. Had to stay in the right lane 'cause the fast sedans were whipping' by me,
Rolled over to Hwy 95 for the return run to Henderson.
9 AM - pretty empty road. Speed limit 75 mph. "Bout ten miles into the road, I saw a brown SUV gaining on me rapidly. Moved right, checked the speedo - 88 mph.
The BMW SUV rocketed past. I wanted to see just how fast he was running, so I pinned the throttle. Gave up at 125-130 mph. He was still pulling away.
Wow! Nevada is certainly an interesting place. BTW, Never saw a cop in 110 miles.

Without a windscreen, leaning low on the tank, mine topped out with the needle at 155, and my GPS said 151 when I checked it later... I suspect that BMW SUV tops out at close to 170...
Rs with red frames are the fastest.

Have you been out in the sun a little longer than usual Badger.
Everybody knows that the Ice Chocolate Metallic is the fastest colour, and a lot less conspicuous and more stealth like.

You guys are all out to lunch. Thunder Grey Metallic. If you're lucky you might see the flash as it passes you; you'll hear the sound trailing a couple of seconds behind ⚡⚡😎

You're a braver man than I. I figured 125 was enough for me. Had no idea it could get up to 155.
I've cleared 200 (just barely). That's km/h of course, about 125 for my southern neighbours. I backed off pretty quick - that's almost double the speed limit where I was, and the Mounties would probably just shoot you and roll your body into the ditch if they caught you at that speed :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: At 200, I think the bike was pretty much maxed out. So was I. Even with the wide clear-cuts on each side, and fences to mostly keep the moose off the road, the thought of blasting through 1,200 lbs of meat standing a foot taller than me was enough to make me think twice about carrying on at that speed.

Hi, im trying to respond to your post in classifieds about the Marrakesh jacket but have insufficient privileges. waiting to get a response about that but if you are able to PM me id be happy to take it off your hands. I also have a size L jacket (same color, version, marrakesh etc that I would be willing to trade if you would like).

That's the rason I backed off the other day when I ran up to 112 on 07 R1200R --- that's 164 feet per second. . . and deer out the whazoo in Alabama
Highway 50 heading East last year I set the cruise controll juat a tad over a 100 on the 1250R. Was very smooth and comfortable. The fear of a fat ticket or worse usually kicks in after a bit and back to normal cruising speeds.
A Valentine One is your friend.
After a while, Hwy 50 gets boring at 100 mph, right?

It does, but I still enjoy it. Good way to spend the first day of a vacation. The Hwy 722 (Eastgate?) detour breaks it up a bit joins Hwy 50 just outside Austin. Be doing it again late September, early October.
What I do is blast across the flat stretches, then cruise the curves in the hills. (slow down to a tepid 80mph) The Valentine One can pick up radar over five miles away.
I do have to admit, though, it's getting harder to find long, empty roads. I started riding in 1964, just turned 78.
