Greetings! I just took delivery on a 2016 R1200RS with only 13k miles. My first boxer and only 2nd BMW. The first was a '92 K75S (which nearly kept me from ever getting another BMW 😄). But last summer I did an Edelweiss Tour in Europe and was very impressed with a fellow rider's R1250RS. Planning to do some long distance tours in the US, so this seemed to be the perfect bike.
I've been riding for about 30 years on all kinds of bikes, enjoy track days, and touring with friends.
Looking forward to learning from all of your experiences.
Cheers,
Greg

how about those Eagles..oh wait, nevermind.
You have come to the best place to learn about these bikes. What isn't known to one or more of the gurus here - and more importantly what they are prepared to share - is hardly worth knowing.

You have the optional Comfort Pillion Seat, which your pillion in a million will appreciate greatly, and it also makes a flatter surface to the luggage grid for strapping longer luggage/loads.
Techspec Snakeskin tank pads are great too.

Thanks for the info on the pillon seat- thought it looked kinda cushy, but assumed it was just a BMW thing.

Very nice! Are those the MAMo light bars? I'm thinking about putting aux lights on mine.

I honestly don't know. They came with the bike and there was no record passed on. I'll try to check tomorrow if there's a brand mark on them.

If they're two separate bars that bolt to the frame on either side, they're MAMo bars. I don't know any other company that makes similar ones.

Nope, there's only one bar on each side, and no brand ID.
Welcome Greg. I’m also from the Philly area up in Bucks County. Did you get your bike at Quaker City Motorsports?
Thank you! Happy to be part of this forum.
I did not, it was actually offered by Triumph of Westchester - they took it in on trade.
I took it on my first real ride today to Tom's River. Was really pleasantly surprised with how fast it is!

You were in my neck of the woods for Toms River. i usually head west or south for the better roads.
Me too. I was visiting a friend in TR, but I have a couple good routes around the Pine Barrens and Army Bivouac roads that I usually ride.
