Hey all, I wanted to post a quick intro to say I to everyone. I just bought a '13 two weeks ago and couldn't be happier with the decision. I love this bike. It's just awesome. I've been riding for ten years now and it's easily become my favorite bike.

I ended up with the metallic beige which wasn't my favorite at first but really grew on me when I saw it in person.

I do have a question as well. Has anyone had any issues with their clutch? After 50 miles or so, the clutch stopped holding pressure. When you pulled the lever in, if you held it, all the pressure would go away. The shop took a look at it, replaced a seal and everything seemed right. The same problem came up tonight again (450 miles later), except this time I regain pressure by pumping the clutch a few times. It's a good thing this bike is so awesome, this could've been a deal-breaker with other bikes I've owned.

Hi Wink41,

Congrats on the purchase and welcome. You'll find you'll love your bike more and more with each passing ride.

I took delivery of my 2012 in March this year and I'm just approaching 9K miles without incident (knocking on wood like crazy). I've not even heard of anyone discussing your particular issue. If this time around your dealer does not fix the issue consider taking it to another dealer. Where are you located?

Welcome Wink41 in Sacramento CA. Congratulations on the new bike. Have not heard of any such clutch issues like yours. Hope the dealer can rectify the problem asap. That's a great looking 2013 you have there.

Sure hope its the master... Three days in my Jeep and I'm ready for two wheels again (and I love my Jeep). Thompcat, don't give me any ideas. I've already stretched my wife's goodwill on the purchase! :)

Congrats, Wink. I too bought my R1200R (a red 2012 model) from A&S just a couple of weeks ago. Mine came with that same windscreen, which I ditched after only one short ride. All it did was add massive wind noise and a bit of turbulence. Minus the shield the windflow is clean and quiet.

Just took her up and over Monitor Pass on Wednesday. There was lots of snow, but none on the road. Thank god for those heated grips and my heated vest. Can't see going up there again this season, though, not after this latest storm.

Thanks! I'm going to have to check out that pass in the spring. I know exactly what you mean about the windscreen. There is a bit if buffeting but I like keeping the wind/bugs off my chest

I think A&S fixed the clutch issue. They did the 600 mile service and put Ina new master cylinder. Everything feels better now. Next up, 1000 more miles to make sure it'll hold up!

Hey Wink41, little late but congrats on the Bike.
My mother in law lives in Carmichael, and I have to say I envy your lane split law every day.

Sorry to hear there is a problem with your new baby so early, I have not heard of that before, make sure the dealer takes care of it, if the problem keeps happening after the master cylinder replacement, make a big deal to get another bike.

Enjoy riding safe and we'll see you here.
