Hi,

Just picked up a 2012 R1200R. Traded in my 78 R100RS (Motorsport) for it. So far, love it. Sure makes a difference to have real brakes on a motorcycle. Oh, I also play golf, but we will not talk about my handicap here.

I like the front of the R100RS,
Congrats on the new bike, what color did you get? I have the gray one 2011.
I know exactly what you mean by "real brakes" I traded my 2008 Yamaha FZ6 and I don't know if I like the brakes more then suspension or the other way around.
May be you can convince the golf spamers to move to another forum where people like you who play golf may be interested on their products.:D

Hi Wayne, and WELCOME !!! Congratulations on the new R1200R bike.
Great to have a real human post, instead of another spam-bot.
Know you are gonna love the new Roadster DOHC. A superb package.
Often I ride with a gent who still keeps his R100RS flying. He's got some great stories.
Mine is the matte finish. Only about 7000 kilometers so far, but so much riding pleasure.
Looking forward to sharing with you here.

BTW I don't know what shape your bike was nor how much they go for right now but, if I had that bike I would it keep it. Even if I didn't ride it, just clean it pretty nice, drain all the fluids and look at it.
I've owned airhead BMWs since 85, and RS's since 92. The Motorsport holds its value well, got 9K out of it. The dealer was asking 14K and it sold in two weeks. I do not know what he got. However, at my age, I found the riding position too hard on my wrist, and I really got tired of yelling in my helmet at people pulling out of me and trying to stop the RS with ancient brakes. That was a really good looking one, loved the white color.
9k is really good I think for such and older bike. I got a good deal on mine last year, The dealer was giving me 3k to take as down payment, I did a craigslist post, got 25 emails withing hours with any kind of offers, anything from 1k, exchange for a wave runner, 80's non working jeep etc etc........
I answered couple of people, meet one of them next day, he saw the bike, and we walked together to the bank that same day to close the deal. My ad was for 5k, Which was high for the miles on it, got $4,500 cash and took me 2 days.
