I've always had Harleys, and I'm tired of the same old same old. Would like to try a R1200R, but my inseam is only 29". I've heard they make a low suspension model and you can also get a low seat. A salesman on the internet told me that the low seat on a regular R1200R is only about a 1/2inch difference than a low suspension R1200R. Is that correct, or would I need both a low suspension and low seat ?

Hey Harleyguy,
I don't know if you are looking on buying a new or used bike, if you are llooking for a used one, take a look at the R1200C, those have a lower seat, they are supposed to be the most comfortable bike ever.
Welcome to the BMW family, you'll love the suspension and brakes on the first mile.

Hey Harley Guy,

I just took ownership of a 2012 R1200R Classic. I have a 29-30 inch inseam; not sure about the regular or low height, but I believe I have a normal suspension and it's a great fit.

This bike is awesome to say the least! Go get one and you'll see...

and Congratulations on a wonderful new motorcycle.

You really owe it to yourself to go Test Ride one, harleyguy.
You'll be grinning after you do. Take your checkbook.
You'll just have to go back and get it.
btw
My inseam is only 29-30" I have a standard seat and suspension.
7000 happy kilometers

Hey Harleyguy,

I also have a 30" inseam and I took delivery of a new 2012 R1200R with standard seat and suspension just last week. I've put just under 100 miles on it so far and love it more with every ride.

My boots are not flat, maybe half boot is down at stop lights so if you needed and got the low seat you should be fine. Best bet is to go test ride one and see for yourself. :)

Hahahah so true,
I wasn't planing on buying, just tested the F800GS, F800ST, though why not, let's give it a try, I have an extra hour, took the R1200R for a spin, and you know how it ended.
Put a $500.00 deposit just to hold it for a week so i could talk it with the wife, came back the next week with her to pick up, and sold my older bike for down payment, everything in one week.

Let us know what happens.
