Tripped across this forum looking for K1600 forums. Surf a couple of other R12R forums, but they've never been that active. Hopefully, this one takes off.
42 years of riding. Dirt, street, touring and track. Had a GS, now have the R12R and an S1. 1600 on its way.
My R is a hex head. "Felix" (black with white pinstripes) has the usual options plus Ohlins and a tall windshield. I lilke riding it when it's hot. You get a nice wind blast. I think the R is the best of the boxers. I used to like GS's, but at my age, the longwayaround stuff is behind me.
I got a couple of interesting non Beamie bikes. I have an RD400 that I bought new that I cafed out and raced. The 96 Valkyrie Tourer is a conversation starter. The S1 is conversation ender.
