I recently made an interesting discovery regarding the effect of the mirrors on helmet buffeting. See this post.

I love my Sargent Seat, too!

I ordered my Sargent seat before my R1200R got to the dealership. It was delivered 10 minutes before I rolled in to the driveway after I took delivery and rode home.
I've had 4 of their seats, including a customized VTR1000R seat I sent to them. Mark Todd, the owner has always been accessible and committed to happy customers. They get my endorsement.

I'd very much like to put the front blanking plate from the new R1250R model instead of the mentioned 10$ piece, it's kind a of a cool looking scop with the "R" etched on. Do you guys reckon it could mount on the 2018 model?
(the 10$ piece for r1200r plate kind of looks like the middle finger, hence the thought :) )

Haven't seen one, TBH. You have a part number?

MRA with that spoiler works well for me. It's pretty good up to about 95 but screenless is not bad either. I've tried the sport screen, the BMW medium touring screen (Awful turbulence!) and the Vario with spoiler flap thing. You can adjust the flap to adjust the flow.
I wear a Schuberth C4 and it's very slick in the wind, better than most modulars. My Arai Quantum catches a lot of wind, but is Dunlop yellow, so it's catchier in the stylish way.

You’d need to replace the alloy instrument mounting bracket too, and I suspect you’d run into significant problems with compatibility with the 1200’s instrument panel.

Have you thought about the Sport cowl in lieu?

Aftermarket cowls are not really my cup of tea, I'd rather stick to OEM looks (and I like like visual updates on the Shiftcam model) . My bike came with the touring screen ... i'll probably go for the 10$ plate for daily riding and pop the screen back for longer highway rides.

The cowl I linked is an aftermarket carbon version of the standard product for the 1200-LC - Cockpit Trim Panel, Windshield Pure.
