If you can believe the photo, it looks like BMW is going for a Diavel or Cruiser look.

That's an old picture. It has the hexhead engine, not made since 2009. It's certainly not the new 1250 engine. I also think it's a photoshopped picture. It has the final drive from an R1200 except it's on the wrong side. I've also never seen any version of R1200 that has the exhaust and final drive on the same side. The new R1250 will have the final drive on the left side as shown, but will have the exhaust on the right side.

If they keep it, it's a badass look from the front. They'll probably weeny it up and paint it grey and pink

INTERMOT (Cologne) vs EICMA (Milan)

When I was at INTERMOT for the big unveil of the GS Wasser Boxer last week, we were really pushing the reps to hint if BMW has anything planned for EICMA in Milan in November. The standard response from all the reps was a comnsistent "we can't say" or "we don't know". BMW has done unveils of new models in Milan before (last year the scooters) but the politics of the shows (previously the shows were suppsoed to alternate each year between locations but Milan has decided on their own to do it very year one month after Cologne which pissed off some Germans) seems to point to BMW doing big releases in Cologne vice Milan just to slight them. My money is if a new model is coming out from BMW we probably won't see it in Milan this year but in Cologne next year. However, if they do, I'll be there and post pics right away.

If anything, they will announce it on Milan but as a 2014 model.

That is perfect, since the R1200R is the under dog of the GS, they make all the updates on the GS, then a year or two after they have figured out the possible mistakes made on the new bike, they fix them and then that becomes the new R1200R (except for the fuel strip)

I'm actually really exited for this, 2014 or 2015, not to long of a wait for that bike with cruise control and slipper clutch, and hopefully, similar LED lighting system too. All that the current bike lacks of.
