Swapping handlebars on RS

I would like bars that are give me a more upright position. Shoulder problems……I found someone to trade R bars for my RS bars and I have Helibar risers, but with shorter arms and longer torso, I’m still looking for more.

Ideas? Has anyone compared R bars dimensions with the Wunderlich bars?

I’ve considered a lower seat that brings the bars up, also. Love the bike, want to make it work

Consider adding a Tech Spec grip kit to your bike. Being able to hold onto the bike with your knees lets you use your lower body muscles to keep the weight off of the bars. Particularly under hard braking. And it somehow makes the bike seem smaller.

But then I put RS bars on my R so maybe I'm just weird.
Hello Drw, I would like a more upright riding position too. I do have Helibar risers on my RS but I am also finding the risers are still not enough.
  • Did the 'R bars' help at all? I bet they changed the RS's appearance (+ or - ?).
  • Do the wider R bars actually pull you even further forward which would be counter-productive?

I like the RS in most other respects too, it is a lovely bike, but my dilemma is how far do I go ($) to push it back along the Sport-Touring continuum to the comfortable Tourer end? Unless I can accept owning a 'dual purpose' GS type machine (aesthetics!), I am 'stuck'. I seem to ponder this dilemma every day given my riding mode is touring.

So, I am unable to help you Drw, but you may like to know that I am in the 'same boat' - make that 'bike'.

Every review I've read of putting the R (or Wunderlich) bars on the RS has said it's a big improvement even over the bar risers.

There's the RT and GS, but they're both significantly more expensive than the RS, especially one you already own.

Has anyone ever tried GS bars? I’ve seen cheap aftermarket versions (quality???).
Could run into trouble with wiring lengths though, and that would be a tedious thing to sort.

I'm pretty sure they don't fit.
