Personally, I’d stick with the wife rather than the sexy young girl. (I’ve had mine for 45 years.)
Now, about changing to an LC, I really have no opinion as I have not ridden one, but I am very happy with my 2013 R.

I am in a similar situation. Very happy with my 2013 R1200R - has LEDs, Wilbers, Remus headers, no flapper, RapidBike dyno tune, a ton of grunt down low and a lovely sound, but after a mishap with one pannier I started wondering if it might be time to check out the R1250R.

Now I've started looking and there's a degree of inevitability about it.

Nice! And I concur with MikeS. :) You will not be disappointed. Also, google "BridgeToGantry" - he's a Nürburgring instructor for both 4 and 2 wheels, and does tours, now on an R1250GS. He has a little trouble with scraping pegs and avoiding bumping the heads on the curbs around the Nordschleife...
