Anyone have installation instructions for the tall windscreen bracket on '11-'12 R1200R? I just got one with no mounting instructions in the box. What I don't like is that it appears that if you mount the bracket you can not refit the silver plastic trim piece that goes between the instrument cluster and the headlight. That will look like crap.

Maybe BMW figures that, since any tall windscreen looks like crap, you don't need to worry about such trivial details?

thanks

Its tricky but it'll go on, If i remember correctly you have to do it just before you install the bolts closest to the tank. Oh and that part is NOT listed in the instructions anyway. I think I only did mine 3 times before i got it right and that was with instructions. the front screws go from the bottom up and of course the front part of the bracket where the screws go should be under and not on top of where it screws to. I mention that as a friend of mine was making that mistake as well as your mistake

dang! i considered putting the bracket under rather than over. The instructions I got with the "wrong" bracket show it over, so I assumed it would be the same. Probably would have made getting the upper arms lined up a little easier, too. Oh well. My "engineering" job isn't going anywhere and the screen works great! Maybe putting it on top tilted the screen back a bit as is often recommended with the CalSci shield. I can ride with an open face helmet and no head buffeting at all.

thanks
