Not a great deal of analysis or detail, but at least a major YouTube channel is paying some attention to our bikes:

It’s mounted in rather an odd place though, I reckon.
If you want to power a phone or an action cam, where else would you put it, keeping in mind they didn't want to change the faring?

I was thinking of the R, which has it under the tank on the LHS rather than up somewhere near the top triple clamp where it would have greater utility without a cable flapping in the breeze.
I looked for pictures of the RS and it appears to have an adapter plugged into a socket on the RHS of the cockpit, which is more practicable.
Being a plug-in adapter, it looks a bit of an afterthought, but possibly more flexible as I assume it could be used as a cockpit 12V Merit outlet instead of USB, in addition to the under-seat outlet.

Yeah, I agree with that. For the R they should have put it near the TFT or similar.

I don't quite get that guy. He did a two part review of the R1250RS and had a bunch of complaints. The R and RS aren't different enough to review them that differently.
Has anyone seen a new R in the US w/D-ESA?

No, and the above reviewer (Nothing to Prove) lives in Germany.
