Thought about starting a new thread, for all of us to share what we have done to our bikes, "What have you done to your "R" today?"

I will start (this actually happened yesterday), ......

Gave her a much deserved Bath. :)

In keeping with the thread

Today, what I have done is make sure my girl is safe in the garage prior to leaving for work, and upon my return she is still there waiting for our next ride :clown:

Today i have fix the ugly rust below the gascap. Water and dirt was stuck here because the drainhole is VERY small. I used some rustremover and paint.

Before ....

After:::
Now that looks pretty nasty.

How did you prevent dirt from falling into the tank?

today (yesterday actually, but still close) I replaced my air filter with a new K&N washable and took her for a ride
Do you notice a difference, K&N vs. OEM Filter in regards to performance?

Removed the system luggage rails from MY '14 R and installed GIVI V35 monokey quick release luggage system. Looks a bit massive after going from naked to luggage but time to carry some protective clothes and a few more tools etc. Goods arrived in fine shape, no defects and all the little parts and bits included. The go-together was a bit time consuming but worth doing it slowly and not scratching anything.

Hi JochenWoern,

I done this little job on my 13' R about 18 months ago.

Personally I used a partially blown up balloon to plug the hole in the fuel tank. I was able to wipe up any loose particles (there were a few), apply rust converter and etch primer before applying top coat. All with the fuel tank in place.

It's supposed to let much more air in, which is beneficial to the air cooled R. To truly notice a difference I should put a high flow aftermarket silencer in too, but that's a bit more than the $50 for the air filter ;)

Honestly I don't notice a difference, but have only done a couple small, around town rides. After a few more miles under my belt I'll report if there's anything noticeable, either performance or MPG.

I went to work on my Roadster, I'll do the same tomorrow!!!
I miss the day when I was able to do that and feel "relatively" safe. Rode to work every day for about 6 years but... alas, I witness at least one near miss and many examples of aggressive or downright insane driving on my route to work every day. Not worth the risk anymore. But that's another subject.

Today I opened the garage door and cleaned the bugs from last weekend off the shield. Then patted her on the saddlebag (BMW System Case, if you want to be proper about it) and left the door open so I could see from the rear windows of the house. The rains are coming soon or I'd be off for my weekend "round the block" of 200 miles or so...

Took her out for about a 110 mile loop Sunday morning. Finally got over 4,000 miles on the odometer. This is one fine motorcycle. I like to get about 10-15 miles of interstate in on my rides to open her up a bit.

Hello Friends. Not today, but two days ago, took my lovely for a 300 mile round trip to Bournemouth on the south coast of England, and back to Rugby (central England). Bike went beautifully. Weather ok going down but got soaked coming back. That's the British Summer for you!! RobA.

Not quite today, but my panniers and top box finally arrived. About 7-8 week wait for these, I think it was worth it. The top box is already seeing commuting duties and I did a 400km run last Sunday with the panniers.

Next on the list is a low seat and i'm going to remove the sports screen entirely, so waiting on these parts to come from Germany. The sports screen doesn't create any buffering for me, but it seems to add noise, plus I can't stand the reflection on the screen when using high beam! So am going screen less from here on. I might consider a touring screen down the track, but will wait for a couple more after market ones to appear before deciding.

Set up looks GREAT bobthekelpy.

Let us know what you think AFTER the removal of the sport screen, as I am debating to do the same on my 2010, but can't make up my mind.
