Replaced the Clutch lever microswitch
I successfully cleaned mine by drilling two holes in appropriate places and spraying contact cleaner through it, then sealing it with hot glue.

I try that on the original microswitch and keep it as a spare @Panzermann.

I did post how I did it, with pictures, @mikeS - were you not paying attention?
Yes, I did pay attention to your micro switch hack including failed razor blade hack and thought, yeah Nah. Just saying...

I replaced the notorious shaft sealing of the balancer weight. It runs on a rough surface that it had to fail. But nothing critical and no oil drops. A good clean would have done it also. Now that it's together again. But trying to keep it minimum invasive and not to open the rear drive cost me half a day just to save the 15 min it took actually.

I retired the bike for the winter. Changed the oil, treated the gas, pulled the battery and brought it inside to keep charged. I also like to bring the seat inside as the cold dries and cracks the cover, plus it discourages mice from nesting under the seat.

The minor thing today was to give LC good bike detailing and while was getting out my cleaning kit, I thought packing for a 3-day trip would be a better use of my time. All packed and ready for an early morning start. The plan is to cruise Oxley H’way, Waterfall Way and some Central West NSW B-Road. Of course, I have a couple of new eateries to check out.

I gave LC a clean and polish today and will give it one more go-over tomorrow. Hmmm, looks a little clean so I might just go for a quick two-day ride on the weekend.

Scrub that - no 2-day ride for LC and mikeS this weekend plans changed by her indoors. I was presented with a far more enjoyable alternative... togetherness by way of Christmas shopping.

The Isotta touring screen arrived today, and I forgot that I ordered this screen a few months back. The mid-size Isotta screen I have works well, but i'll test out the larger screen on the weekend and see how it works and if I'll keep it on.

Here's an image of both screens side-by-side, and it is hard to tell. I preferred the smoke colour but it's only available in clear.

Can always apply a light smoke window tinting film.
Good thought, thanks, but I’ll live with it for a few rides and see if worth keeping on so early in the session. Today is the first day of Autumn, and still quite warm here in Sydney.

Dropped it off at the dealership for a fork seal. The one I installed didn't stay sealed. So today and tomorrow I'm on this...

I have to say, I feel your “pain” for not being able to ride your other bike :)

Took my 2020 R1250R for 12,000 miles service at Cross Country BMW. BMW Motorrad | Cross Country Cycle
While performing the service, they discovered a nail in my front tire... total bill came-out to $1,016 USD (OUCH!!!). This is without brake bleeding (I've done it myself several months ago), but with a new front tire and mounting. Labor alone was $560 USD... I should have been a motorcycle mechanic :) Shop also updated the TFT software under warranty.

Cross Country Cycles in Metuchen NJ has lots and lots of interesting motorcycles (BMW, Triumph, Ducati, Kawasaki, Royal Enfield, etc.) and an excellent selection of gear and accessories.

Installed Wunderlich Nav relocation bracket on my R1250R. I can’t say that installation was very difficult, but it wasn’t trivial: mostly due to somewhat superficial instructions. Quality is excellent: powder coated stainless steel bracket is stiff enough to hold-up the navigator and vibrations are minimal - essentially the same amount as I see in the TFT, and absolutely non-intrusive. I’m starting a new job soon and will have about 35 miles commute each way on unfamiliar roads, so this was as much of a convenience as a safety improvement: I don’t have to look down at my handlebars every few minutes.

My daughter appropriated the shipping box, and her favorite teddy bear Beem now has an upgraded Wunderlich bed.

I tried smoothing out H&B pannier damage from my recent tip over. It's
superficial damage but still quite noticeable with some sharp burrs.

Here's my effort to smooth out the burred edges. I was Stanely knife blade and carefully scraped along to remove all the rough edges and wet and dry paper from course to fine for a smooth finish.

Finish off with a few applications of Meguiar’s plastic restorer.
I could keep going with the wet and dry, but for now, it's good enough.

Meguiar’s plastic restorer does nice job of plastic rejuvenation. The instructions say to apply and buff off nothing else. That didn't seem to do much at all for my application. What did work was to apply a generous even coat leaving it to dry then buff it lightly.
