Took advantage of the excellent weather on Monday and went for a 550k round trip to Bungendore from Sydney inner west. Took all the usual backroads starting from Southern Highlands via Bundanoon, Tallong, Goulburn and then down to Tarago. Perfect weather and managed to break in my new RP4s....

I joined in the tail of the police motorcycle escort for the Prime Minister of Sri La

Goodness gracious me!

Haha - hey PM - I tried that one myself a few months two ago. I was on the freeway heading towards Canberra and was passed by the GG's motorcade. I was on doing around 110kph and was passed by GG's motorcade like I was doing 80kph. Anyway, I thought it would be a bit of fun to tuck in behind. I managed to hang on for about a 1K but got told to back off (think he said back off) by the tail end Godzilla sized AFP motorcyclist. ..... OH - here's a thought, how do you keep those white riding pant so bug / dirt free >:)

I usually keep off the Hume as much as possible as it's too dangerous (I could die of boredom ...). From Tallong I normally go via Bungonia to Tarago.

I don't like the Hume as well but (if I can) like to stop for a coffee in Goulburn at The Rose Café. I normally meet up with a couple of riding mates there. From there I go the back way to Tarago. My route is usually via M4, Mulgoa, Hilltop, Suttons Forest and then on to Bundanoon. I come out a Wingello and on to Marulan and a short stretch along the Hume to Goulburn. Of course always another coffee at the Woodwork Café and mashed Avo on toast (and maybe a poaches egg on top :laugh2:).

Ouch!
Sorry to hear about your crash Sricko. Might be of little comfort right now but could have been a lot more serious. Hope your feeling better soon. Please shout out if you need assistance getting things sorted with you bike. MikeS

No matter cautious, carless, competent or beginner rider ...... **** happens. We all just hope and pray it never happens to us.

a large PATS .... you say

My own near downfall - hence my mentioning it - was the aforementioned large herd of cattle spread out across the road, exacerbated by the large pats they'd left behind, on one of which I almost came to grief by rear-ending one of said beasts!:surprise: I have some pix somewhere - must lookemup and post...
see **** does happen!

Decided test out my new top box install & Sidi Armada boots on a quick 650k round trip from Sydney to Bungendore ( via Bungonia to Windellama). Boots felt like bricks on my feet but after my favourite treat at Woodwork cafe boots felt like slippers. Dish Food Cuisine Ingredient Brunch

I went to the shops for a few groceries (almost 47 litres ...) parting the traffic like Moses at the Red Sea as my new Daytime Running Lights burned holes in the retinas of road users in front of me. :grin2:

Panzermann, it's all downhill from here. Looks like you have been infected with the LED virus. The only known remedy is a second set.....

Needed to scrub in new tyres so had to make a trip to 'God's Country', the North York Moors. March sunshine is still pretty nippy at +5 C but the deserted roads make up for it. Not sure exactly where this is but near Blakey Bank at Farndale.
New Metz Z8s perfectly matched for my pootle, and a bargain with Roadtec 01taking over.

Certainly looks like awesome riding countryside MikeH. I'm guessing you had some fun putting heat in those new tyres. That countryside looks similar to sections of Snowy Mountain H'WY here in OZ.

I took a run up the Putty Road with my planed lunch break at Dugong. I got to 40k south of Singleton and was turned back. Road closed due to motorcycle accident. Police said the road would be closed for most of the day. I suspect due to a fatality.

Hey LoS - might be worth taking a riding break for a little while before making the big decision to sell. However, whatever you decide will be the right decision. While I don't know you personally, I have come to know (via your posts) you have lots of other passions to keep your interested and entertained.

Popped up to see my number 2 son in Sydney yesterday, returning today. Took the scenic route up, via Bungendore, Tarago and Oallen Ford Rd to Nerriga, where the fog and low cloud finally cleared, then on to Nowra. I then picked my way up the coast and through the Royal National Park, stopping earlier at Kiama for a photo opportunity by the lighthouse, inspired by a pleasant young lady on her Triumph twin doing the same, her flowing locks of auburn hair thrown back for the pose. I dispensed with the latter for my photo.

Today my son and I ventured across the Harbour Bridge to Manly for lunch overlooking the beach before I returned home this arvo via the utilitarian Hume Highway.

Feels like I've been on a holiday - I need to get out more often.

(Doc - phone camera pics. Didn't take a real camera with me ... :grin2:)

Hey PZM, I just noticed the mounting position of those small LEDs near the hand guards ... Nice! :goodjob:

With another crazy 60 hour work week behind me, I couldn't decide on where I want to ride to this morning. After 15 minutes of navel gazing, all I could come up with was ... I need food. Sydney to southern Highlands and stoped at Goulburn for a late breakfast. I'm a happy camper and ready to tackle Fitzroy Falls Twisty sections. Botany Tree Plant Houseplant Sculpture

Ran some errands today at the nearby town centre. At the lights on the way home a driver next to me was taking an inordinate interest in my bike, so childishly I slipped into Dynamic mode and gave it the berries in first and second when the lights changed. Wow - don't do that often (I don't mean be childish ...) and it was 'quite exhilirating' to say the least. Everyone should do that now and then - but maybe not in a 60 km/h zone. :surprise:

And for those (like myself) who still ride an RR-AC, Dynamic mode is engaged by releasing the clutch lever and the twisting the throttle as far round as it will go and hang on!
