@mikeS @Panzermann Thanks fellas! It's dirty now and I'd already figured it would be a waste of good detergent to clean beforehand :). And yes, BVW has been slowly falling apart in many sections pretty much since the full sealing was completed some years ago. Shame, the Bylong Cafe closed also, I always looked forward to that stop. The route last year via Wellington was a constant test of my pothole avoidance skills and I figured the surfaces will have only deteriorated further. Thanks for the heads up on the apps, much appreciated! I'll also try out that Cafe Mike recommended at Willow Tree!

Well, it was 37F this AM, but I did ride up to my local diner and back; froze my nurnies, too, in just a mile or so.

Tomorrow will be a heat wave, all the way to 51.

That Mad Cow Disease was no joke. The wife of a friend and ex-workmate of mine sadly died a very early, nasty, and tragic death from it here in Oz, but probably contracted it during the few years they lived and worked in the UK. It was a sad affair - she was a lovely, lively, vibrant, life-loving lady (I use the word deliberately) - far too good for my mate!

Donate-on, Pz!
That is SO weird. I'm sorry to hear about that, but what a weird thing.

I remember when they said prions were going to wipe meat off the menu, permanently. But I still see it in the store, for like 20 USD a lb. Then Covid19 came along and wiped out restaurants, and many other "sit down" types of businesses, not to mention the millions of human lives.
I guess that's why I rarely have it anymore, not the prions, but the prices.

I hope for your sake that the people you encounter have the same idea ;)
Mostly, but imagine a beach-side paradise dotted with towering redwood trees, literally 20 miles from Silicon Valley (It used to be called San Jose) but suddenly populated with 20somethings who think it's cute to practice drifting on public roads in a 400,000 supercar while they talk on the phone.

Just out doing some last minute pre-Christmas errands when I spotted this odometer reading. I toyed with the idea of letting the battery run down to 12.3V and waiting until 12.30, but yeah, nah.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who likes numerical patterns in odometer readings. Merry Xmas!

Last Saturday I got out on the BMW for the first ride of the New Year.

It's been p!$$ing rain almost every day since the 31st here in "sunny SoCal"... so the first dry day I got out for... a two mile ride to a friend's service shop to wok on the family huckster. A 2012 BRG Mini Cooper Clubman S that seems to have a failed oil pressure regulator solenoid...

A short Blood Bikes run today delivering blood samples from the Thompson Institute to labs at the University of the Sunshine Coast in support of PTSD research.
Yesterday I finally got around to the third level clean from the Phillip Island World Superbike trip last November - a cup of CT18 Truck Wash and toothbrush/paintbrush to dig out the grime from hard to reach places. So the bike is nice and clean - just in time to head off to Phillip Island again in three weeks for the regular World Superbikes season opener - and get it all filthy again …

Took the R12R to Attack of the Racks III yesterday morning, with the bicycle on the back of the moto. For the ride to Classic Car Club in Manhattan, it was a lovely 6 degrees when I departed to hit the 9am load-in, rose to 11 degrees F by late morning with this screenshot (-11C... how symmetrical on either side of 0!). About 60 vehicles and one motorcycle! Passed by the newly unveiled Anish Kapoor sculpture along the way.

Tech item learned: the onboard temperature sensor stops working at about 15 degrees F.

Too bad Anish Kapoor is such an a**h**e... (Not a friend of the arts, in it all for himself.)
I had planned to set off early this morning for a 10-day trip. However, I've decided to cut short the trip due to the heatwave conditions. I got a call from a mate currently out west in NSW who I planned to catch up with and said it was 42c (over 100F) with very high humidity. It doesn't look much better over the next few days.

I'll stand by @Panzermann and adjust my travel plans accordingly. Plan A was to make a wide loop out west, end up at the Island for WSBK weekend and then onto GOR on my way home. Anyway, no biggie, I'll sit tight.

I headed off for a few days on LC and thought I would do a quick post for yesterday's ride. I knocked out 740klm for the day, taking upper Hunter, New England and the edge of Central West Regional NSW areas. I enjoyed near-perfect weather conditions. Cover some of my favourite regional roads - Black Stump Way and Warrumbungles Way with an overnight stop in Tamworth. I tried as much as possible to take in as many remote rideable B roads as possible but allow enough time to check into my hotel and make dinner before the cut-off.

A couple of stops a long way with a late lunch break at White Rosa Cafe Dunedoo. Great little place an fresh food with somewhat old-school vide but a hint of hipsterish in that makes sense. I opted for an Aussie classic - a cheese & salad sandwich (are you listening @Mint) with a pot of tea (real English breakfast - no tea bag junk). Totally Yum.

You certainly covered some territory, @mikeS.
Don’t mind the odd dog’s eye when I’m travelling - normally with some dead horse.

For Aussie forum members in NSW, I thought I'd share some of the cafes I have visited over the last six weeks on my trips away.

Billy T - Stroud, NSW.

Nice little coffee stop on the way up to Thunderbolts Way. Excellent casual cafe-style food with lots of in-house baked treats, and I could go with scones and Jam.

Roadies - Gloucester, NSW

Sorry, no food photos ( I forgot), but I highly recommend great food choices and very relaxed. It seems to be popular with bikers.

Butcher Shop Cafe - Goulgong, NSW
I tried this little place out on my ride home today. It has pretty essential but enjoyable and relaxed vibe and is well supp by locals. I thought I’d roll the ni e and try their scrambled eggs & mushrooms on toast. I must say the mushrooms look a bit funky but delicious.

A couple of recommendations I forgot to include within riding distance of my weekend trip. I visited the last eight weeks.

Molly May’s - Manilla, NSW
Well worth a visit and has a nice courtyard to relax in. Service is a bit slow, but if you are not in a rush cool place to kick back.

Roxy Cafe (Peter’s) - Bingara, NSW

Excellent Restoration keeping most of the old-school features. All food is fresh and well-supported by locals. Note: I was there about eight weeks ago, but a Google search indicates temporality closed.
