Never heard of a different speed limit for motorcycles.
What's the reasoning?
It's something political as we have a government that is lead by the Green party. What I have to say about it would infringe the rules of good taste.

Probably to eliminate an amount of bikers until the anti-folks cannot claim any nuisance anymore...
This is a f*cking dangerous rule! How many bikers need to be killed before "they" discover that driving 50 where others will do 100 is probably not such a good idea...

That being said, there are plenty bikers that use the German mountain-roads as a circuit, and produce way too much decibels and really dangerous situations. Just like the closure of dike roads in the Netherlands, rules like this get thought up because a significant group of bikers can't control themselves. We need to address them!

EDIT: getting rid of the stars where the word dike was used with a different spelling...
Believe it or not, but when Dutchies stick their finger in one, it is not meant like some like to think :ROFLMAO:

Had a nice ride with a friend today, just anothe run up to Crystal Lake Cafe and the back of Glendora Mt Road. Uneventful for us, but one rider did leave the roadway. The heli was circling in to lift him out as we were on our way up.

There were a couple auto accidents up there as well, but I don't think any major injuries. Too many people riding and driving without a safety margin...

The pictures are from the lookout atop Glendora Mt Road wher it forks for Glendora Ridge Road.

Being a Dutchie I cannot really treat you guys and girls with mountainesque scenery.
But I still like to think there is some beauty in these pictures ;)
Taken last Saturday, in my own region where I live.

I did a couple BloodBikes runs today on the Panzer. Perfect weather for it, and it happens to be National Volunteer Week here in Oz.

@MotoCon @Panzermann we left the cafe before them and I said to my lad that they won't catch us up, guess what about 6 miles down the road they appeared in our rear view mirrors so god knows what speed they must have been doing as we were not hanging about!

A beautiful autumn day for a short scoot up to Montville via the curvaceous Hunchy Road then back down to Rick’s Garage at Palmwoods for a beer. By the time we left, all the Harleys had made their theatrical departure.

A beautiful spring day on the side of the earth so I went to a classic British bike show, a few pics taken along the way.

Or do you have this discrimination too outside of Germany?
In NYC and the region, there are motorcycle-only check points. Personally, I’ve never been pulled over in one, but I hear about them all the time.

As we would say, “Only in America…”.

Interesting, but NYC isn't America, is it? And a very scenic picture on this side ,which I would like to share:
