Just took delivery of my 90th Anniversary R1200R, complete with blazingly orange Shuberth C3 helmet. Chose it over a Ducati Multistrada due to the Ducati's stupid electronic tach/speedo. Want to see the needles move.

I have owned 2 bikes in the past, a Honda VFR800 and a Harley Softtail. Shot for bike in the middle this time.

Anyway, I am 6'3" with a 36" inseam, and want to find a raised seat. Who sells them for the R1200R?

Thanks!

Congratulations on your choice of bike. Did the dealer not give you the high seat option when your ordered your bike?

There's always options, it depends how deep your pockets are!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the major seat manufacturers make seats for the R1200R: Corbin, Sargent, Wunderlich to name the main ones, but none are cheap. I recently bought a standard second hand seat on fleabay and will take it to a local motorcycle seat specialist - it should work out half the price of the named brands.

I am in the market for a high comfort seat, as well. From the looks of things, Corbin and Wunderlich are the most accessible, though not easy on the wallet. I am curious if anyone knows which one adds the most height?

I found a high comfort seat on ebay someone had taken off a new bike to replace with an aftermarket one. It only cost $225 with shipping where one from the dealer is $560. I like it better than a Rick Mayer leather covered seat I also have. I traded my stock seat for it. If you can wait, keep watching on ebay or the BMWMOA flea market and you'll find one. Unless I could go in and have it custom made, I was leery of ordering a 5 or 6 hundred seat online or over the phone. Use FedEx for shipping. It was less than half what USPS or UPS wanted when I shipped my stock seat for the trade.

Hi!
First post here.
I am in the market for a new or almost new R1200R and I have a question.
I'm 6'7" tall. Will I need the tall seat from BMW or aftermarket vendors, and the lowered footpeg set?
If I do these mods, will the size of the bike work for me? Been unable to find that combo at local dealers here.
Thanks!

Many options and yes, everything depends on what you like and how much money you are willing to spend on getting that.

I can't justify the amount of a new seat for the benefits, so I ended up with an Airhawk R for a fraction of the price of a whole seat, and I love it.

Here is a pretty good option, this company has pretty good reviews on all their seats. Plus you can pretty much choose any color and a cool back rest.
