Hi!
I have the small windscreen BMW! Minimum Protection, looks spectacular ...
I'm planning a big trip, and in order to accomplish this trip I'll have to purchase a windscreen with greater protection. I am thinking to purchase the big BMW, the bike is not looking so sporty, but for long trips is a must be!

screen

hi all
the standard sport screen is rubbish ,after 75 mph the wind gets you right in top of half of your body, i like the look of it but it does not work right ,think the angle needs to be more upright , 2 inch taller with a lip on the top to direct wind up and over your head . the screens i see for sale look like barn doors:eek: and don't really want to use one of them :(.
must be something on the net available .

Hi
RCA, I totally agree with you. I like two sides of our bikes. One is sporty, simple and "clean" ... the other is a bike that can be equipped to make big rides!
The problem is that we can not have both at the same time! But this problem of the screen affects me a lot. I am a bit high .. 1.85m and I take a big beating from the wind. When I'm next to my girl, I have to try out a bit more angle of the screen. If not ... I just buy the screen to make long trips. If however you find something cool ... share with us!

Thankz!

hi guys, only one screen to buy as far as i am concerned and that is the Wunderlich Trophy screen, ive seen one and the fit and finish is superb and according to the rider he was perfectly comfortable at 90 mph plus as the screen took the windblast away from his chest. As i have a new classic i"m gonna have it sprayed with the same paint job in sapphire black metallic with the artic white stripes and then match it with panniers in sapphire black, should look like a modern version of an R90S

"Lessens the motorcycle!!!!" Please explain how? BMW may spend millions on wind tunnel engineering , but, as you"ve no doubt read in these very pages, they dont seem to work very well, the sports screen at over £300 fitted is next to useless at speeds over 70mph and doesnt look brilliant. The wunderlich trophy sports fairing does and is very effective, its all down to personal preference obviously, and of course some of us aren"t so blindly brainwashed by BMW"s marketing department and have our own minds and style.....

BMW spends millions on wind tunnel engineering. every aftermarket deviation lessens the motorcycle.

Funny that their wind tunnel testing seems to have neglected optimisation for my weight, build and choice of helmet (for wind noise effects).

A sports bike is probably far more aerodynamic than an R1200R but I have chosen the R1200R because I prefer the riding position and ergonomics. In other words, comfort is a higher priority to me than ultimate drag coefficient.

how about this from Cee Baileys? The bike pictured show 23" and we do have a 25" and 21" as well. We got some good review from our testers and customers. Here is the link for the testimonial BMW 1200 RT Testimonials

Cal Sci

I really like my Calsci screen. I'm 6'1" or so and got the Large (22.5") version: California Scientific Motorcycle Windshields I do a lot of long distance (relatively) and need the protection. Not to mention that I have had over time several birds and assorted creatures smack into my windscreen that would have done considerable damage to my handsome face... :D

PS: all windscreens are ugly, imho, and "lessen the bike" from an appearance perspective. Just a practical necessity to me.

I am 6' 2.5" Tall. I have the Ztechnik 2442 and the Wuderlich deflector. Its beautiful. Works great. 110 MPH and no worries. The Z screen provides plenty of wind protection neck down. I needed the Wunderlich deflector to give me that head protection and It works absolutely fantastic having both. I didnt think it was going to at first but I can tuck down behind them and no wind. Absolutely recommend them both.

I'm sure a lot of us would like to see your bike after you've everything painted and installed.
