Has anyone tried the new K&N wrench-off filter, yet?

K&N WRENCH-OFF Premium Oil Filter for BMW R1200R

Since I'm considering doing my own maintenance for my Spring checkup I am considering this.

I've heard pretty bad stories about that hex head coming off and seperating from the filter. But then again, you don't need to put much torque on the filter so I don't see how that's an issue. I could be wrong though. I'll stick with my Mann filters. Filter wrench was about $30 iirc. $30 tool is worth the investment for a ~$9k motorcycle, imo.

Yup, I paid $30.00 for a Max R1200R oil filter wrench. Seems worth it to me. I guess I'll find out when I go to change the oil!
