BMW R1300R?

I check my tires before I ride and unless it’s a sudden failure, which a TPM won’t help you with, you should be able to feel a low tire.
I picked up a Stanley knife blade in my tyre and I saw a warning on the dash before I hit my first bend after the warning light. I will take TPM every time.

I was at my dealer the other day getting my R1250RS serviced (including 6.5 hours to update the software!) and talked about when the 1300 will be available across the range. I was told probably September announcement for 2025 models. They have stopped production of the 1250 so you cannot order a new one.

Took the R1300GS for a few hour's ride, but that's another story.

How did you find it? I was invited to take one for a spin but couldn't be bothered for some reason.
I actually really liked it, much to my surprise. A few years ago I tried the R1250GS and didn't like it, mainly because it was uncomfortable which was the view of my pillion as well.

The R1300GS handles well, is easy to manoeuvre at slow speeds and push around, turns quickly, has good wind protection and is comfy. The one I rode had the auto-lowering suspension and electric screen. I am 6' tall so height isn't a problem for flat-footing but for some people dropping 30mm below 5mph could be useful.

The engine whined a lot - like some straight cut gears with no oil. I didn't thrash it as it only has less than 300 miles on it.

I have had an R1200R, R1250RT and currently the R1250RS. I will see what the R1300R rides like when it comes out, but if I don't like that I would be tempted by the GS.

They do need to sort out some issues first. Panniers coming open/falling off. Failure to start. Solid state start relays causing fires. Excessive rear brake pad wear. The guy at my dealer was trying to source some non-BMW panniers so they can sell the bikes they have because the pannier issue won't be fixed until next year and people need luggage.

He did mention which make he was going to get (SW-Motech I think). He would rather be selling BMW ones though. Also, I guess central locking won't work with the aftermarket ones.

You are, of course, free to think whatever you like, but you’d be hard pressed to find any articles that support that argument, I think…. My point was simply to correct the mistaken statement from JP_in_SD. Whether you agree or not is of absolutely no interest to me, to be honest. — Super-Moderator status notwithstanding.
I think a V twin has the pistons in a V shape - not zero or 180 degrees. I am sure I am not alone in that thought.

I haven't an issue with keyless. I am less impressed by fully linked brakes. Had them on my 2021 R1250RT and it was tricky trail braking with confidence that you were in control. We will see when (if) I get a test ride at the end of July.

I specifically asked about 2021+ R1250RT and got a confident ❌
I know the 2021 R1250RT was fully linked as I had one. I also know my 2001 K1200RS was only partially linked. I don't know about the early RTs but it seems ChatGPT isn't to be trusted.

I certainly will report back. I tried the R1300GS at the service last year and was impressed apart from the overall height off the ground when cornering. Oh, and the stupid menus, the teething problems, the price and the whining from the gearbox.

Well, my test ride on the R1300R didn't happen. I requested the test ride when I booked the service a couple of months ago but the let someone else take it. There were no other 1300s available so I had an F900R. Small, and uncomfortable.
