I believe you need a dealer for this - it’s a software load rather than option tick, so cannot be dove with a GS911 or Motoscan.

I retrofitted a used Shift Assist to my 2015 Roadster then ordered the software from the dealer and had them hook up the bike and install it.
When ordering the bike new, I’d not considered Shift Assist a worthwhile option but after a couple years changed my mind. The total cost of retrofitting a used item was about the same optioning it new (with me fitting the hardware).

That procedure is simply for resetting adaptations, unfortunately.
